Weddings during a pandemic are tough, but not impossible. We’ve been lucky enough to shoot several weddings throughout Covid-19 and we’ve gathered some of our favourite ideas that we’ve seen brides and grooms incorporate into their day.
Read MoreHannah & Mike Love Story - Gimli Harbour
Sailboat engagement photos?? Yes, please! When Hannah and Mike told us her parents are professional sailboat competitors we knew this session was going to be amazing! Hannah is familiar with the ropes of the boat as she grew up around sailing and even competed herself at one point. Mike was a little more hesitant on the boat but he quickly warmed up once Hannah was in his arms! We captured these two long the calm waters of Gimli lake while her parents drove the boat. The most gorgeous summer colours along the Gimli Harbour, what more could you ask for.
Read MoreKayla & Carlin Love Story - Grand Beach
When Kayla and Carlin suggested Grand Beach for their Love Story Engagement photos we were excited to capture these two in one of their first date locations. We eased into this session with some shots of the two and their adorable pup Doobie. The sun was setting low so we used that golden hour glow to get some creative light flares and to allow for Doobie to be his playful self. Carlin brought along his acoustic guitar so naturally, we had him play a little something to Kayla. Just before the sun was completely set we ended this session on the sandy beach. Kayla and Carlin opted for an outfit change to set the tone of a more “beachy” look. Running along the shoreline, chasing some seagulls and wind in their hair was all part of the plan. What we didn’t expect was for these two to run full speed into the chilly late fall waves! We are sure glad they did as these are some of ours and their favourite shots of the session. Totally worth it and we can’t wait to photograph these two again on their big day!
Read MoreKiersten & Makar Love Story - Kilcona Park
This super cute picnic in the park session was all styled by Kiersten and Makar themselves! They arrived with a basket full of goodies and we took some time to lay it out in a picture perfect set up. Fresh croissants, macarons from Jenna Rae Cakes and some colourful fruit all made the picnic spread really pop. They sipped some wine, fed each other treats and laughed while we snapped away.
Read MoreMegan & Jeff Wedding - Longbow Lake, Ontario
Megan and Jeff planned for a wedding with all of their closest family and friends, however with the Covid-19 pandemic on the rise, group sizes were being limited to only 50 people outdoors. They didn’t want to postpone so they did some thinking and decided to move Wedding locations to Jeff’s family lake front lot. Longbow Lake holds a lot of memories for Jeff and his family and now also with Megan spending endless summers there. With a family cabin and a few guest cabins along the lakefront property this location was such a picturesque and perfect spot for their ceremony and reception.

Brianna and Nathan made their 2020 Wedding possible during the covid-19 pandemic. With a 50 person gathering limit these two quickly downsized their wedding guest list and were able to celebrate at the beautiful Hawthorn Estates venue in Selkirk, Manitoba. Brianna ad Nathan did not want to see each other before their ceremony but we suggested that they read letters they wrote for each other in a “no look first look”. For this special moment we placed them on either side of a door so they could hear one another but not see each other. It’s one of our favourite moments to photograph during a wedding when the couple chooses not to see each other before their ceremony. After this, the two were married by Brianna’s father followed by a grand exit to an old classic car where we did some awesome photos of the newlyweds. A reception held both indoor and outdoor was celebrated by their family and friends and we even had a chance to sneak away with the couple for a few night photos.
Read MoreJenn & Kyle Wedding - Pinawa Dam
Jenn and Kyle have been close friends of ours for years. When we heard these two were engaged we couldn’t wait to be part of their big day. Unfortunately with the Covid-19 pandemic numbers rising each day Kyle and Jenn had to postpone their large wedding plans in 2020 and opt for a smaller gathering for the time being.
Read MoreJames & Michael Wedding - Fort Gibraltar
James and Michael were planning to have their wedding outside of Manitoba until the covid-19 pandemic hit. They had to downsize their guest list and decided to celebrate at the historic Fort Gibraltar venue. They chose to get ready together on the morning of their wedding at the beautiful Fort Garry Hotel. We made sure to use some creative flash photography around the room all the while capturing the important details to set the day.
Read MoreDanielle & Sam Backyard Wedding - Wolseley
In the year 2020 couples had to downsize guest lists and modify their weddings if they wanted to celebrate. The province of Manitoba had strict rules fluctuating week to week of gathering sizes, and which services were deemed essential enough to operate. Sam and Danielle’s wedding was no exception during these times and instead of the large golf course celebration they had planned, they opted for something more personal and equally as loving as they originally hoped for.
Read MoreBeth & Nathan Love Story - Stonewall Quarry Park
When Beth and Nathan suggested Stonewall Quarry park for their Love story session we had never shot there and weren’t quite sure what to expect. But, like all true artists we love going into the unknown and seeing what we can come up with. This is now one of our favourite shoot locations. The jagged cut rocks around the quarry with the tiny bits of greenery make it look similar to the Vegas desert. We shot this session in golden hour so the lighting was perfect for what was in front of us. Beth styled herself very well by wearing a simple white sundress and Nathan contrasted in an all black jeans and summer tee.
Read MoreAlennie & David Love Story - Nonsuch Brewery Winnipeg
This was a super fun Love Story Session. We started out at the Nonsuch Brewery where we were able to grab some sneaky shots with their infamous umbrellas. The waitress was really nice and even allowed us to grab more photos in a less crowded seating area. The decor in this brewery is unique and eclectic. We then wandered around the downtown Exchange District looking for light and anything creative we could come up with. Looking forward to working with these two once again on their Wedding Day!
Read MoreJunia & Joel Wedding - Ashgrove Acres
Our first wedding of 2020 since the pandemic hit. Manitoba was under a 50 person gathering limit so Junia and Joel were still able to invite a fair amount of guests. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Ashgrove Acres followed by a quaint outdoor reception where food was served to each guest. Speeches were held at Ashgrove’s outdoor patio space and after that we gathered the bridal party and headed to the Forks. We did a loop around the forks grounds with their bridal party and then just the two of them. Smith Restaurant was able to accommodate the small group for drinks and appys. Junia and Joel didn’t let the first wave of covid-19 affect their big day. They are a prime example of going with the flow and putting their love first.

We met Danica and Joe while visiting France in late spring. We were there for a wedding photography workshop and they were enjoying some time together before heading back to separate countries in their long distance relationship. The buildings in this town looked like out of a fairytale and we couldn’t help think of Beauty and the Beast. We spent a couple of hours with these two wandering the small town of Colemar photographing some laughs and getting creative.
Read MoreAshley & Tim Love Story - Tunnel Island, Kenora
Ashley and Tim’s Love Story session in Kenora is one of our favourite winter sessions. We started the session off right in the town Kenora, wandering around Main Street, a central skating rink and along the river. Ashley and Tim allowed us to do what we do best; find the light, use the shapes we see and get creative. They were down for anything!

This was one of two styled shoots we did while visiting Iceland. Margrett and Ingih have such romantic chemistry we had a hard time choosing our favourites to share! This shoot takes place in some "secret" areas found around Skogafoss and Vik. We drove around in a Landrover Defender and had a really fun time working with these two.

Where do we start with this beautiful styled shoot! The weather was cold, a little wet and the wind was something else, but we couldn't get enough of this Icelandic viking inspired roots! Hildi and Tryggvi were an amazing couple to work with. We began this session on the top of a steep cliff near Vik, Iceland followed by a walk along the black sand beach surrounded by amazing rock formations and sea caves. Skogafoss was our last stop where the couple kept warm by cuddling in front of this beautiful waterfall. We can't wait to visit Iceland again, its picture perfect views are nothing short of wow!
Read MoreKelly & Mike Wedding - Hawthorn Estates
Kelly and Mike’s beautiful fall wedding takes place at Hawthorn Estates. Dusty light pink and white wedding colours were the perfect romantic vibe for this day. Florals were done by the Floral Fixx and created the most amazing accents on the ceremony arch as well as the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. We even had a chance to capture some night photos with the couple at the venue bonfire and in the solarium.
