What is a Wedding Highlight Video?

It’s important to understand the difference between a highlight video and a full wedding video. A highlight video will not include your entire ceremony or all of the speeches from your reception, for example. If it is important to you to have a full wedding video you should contact a dedicated wedding videographer as we are Hybrid Photographers that are also focused on still photographs.

That being said we still want to capture the most memorable moments of your wedding day. Our goal is to create a short condensed and emotional recap of your special day, allowing you to relive the most significant moments, such as the ceremony, speeches, first dance, and other key moments. Highlight videos typically range from 4-10 minutes in length.

What is Hybrid Photography?

Hybrid Photography refers to a photographer shooting still images and video at the same time. The cameras we use allow us to switch between photo and video efficiently so we are both capturing video clips throughout the day while prioritizing still photography.

FAQ

Will I receive less photos if you are also creating video? No, We always prioritize still photography over video but with two photographers we are often able to capture both during the key moments of a wedding day.

If I add a video does that mean one of you is taking photos and one is recording video? There will be times where one of us is focusing on video while the other takes photos but for the most part we are both taking photos and video at the same time which means you are getting multiple angles from multiple perspectives of both your photos and your video.

Can we have the video for the entire ceremony and all the speeches? We try to capture only the key moments of your ceremony or speeches because we are bouncing back and forth between photo and video. Our goal is to create a short and engaging highlight video while also photographing every moment possible which means we will not have video footage of your wedding in its entirety.

Do you record sound? Yes, audio is very important to drive any story. In highlight videos we are only looking for 2-5 minutes of audio to help tell your story, we find a letter reading in the morning or personalized vows are the best way to achieve this. If you do not want to read/write letters to each other or say personalized vows we will use music to tell your story

Can you use our favourite song in the video? Likely not, most if not all mainstream music is prohibitively expensive to legally license for your highlight video. There are some services that allow access to popular music for a fee which we can discuss together if you would like but we typically get our legal music from royalty-free databases. These databases have a ton of variety of great musicians and the licensing fee is covered by us.
